Priorities of the U.S. Attorney's Office and their Impact on Corporate Counsel

On April 25, 2013, NEOACCA (the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office Northern District of Ohio will host a program in the 7th floor auditorium at the Carl B. Stokes Federal Courthouse, 801 West Superior Avenue in Cleveland.  This program offers 1.5 CLE seminar followed by networking/cocktail hour.  There is no charge to attend this event.

The seminar will address:

Enforcement Priorities of the Justice Department.  United States Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach will discuss the priorities of his office, white-collar crime trends in Northern Ohio and offer an assessment of challenges faced by companies doing business in our region.

Common Pitfalls of Working with Government Entities.  Assistant United States Attorney Ann C. Rowland will discuss the Cuyahoga County corruption case and what lessons can be learned from the pay-to-play scandal.  She will also discuss efforts to change the culture of doing business in Northeast Ohio.

You Got Served.  First Assistant United States Attorney Carole S. Rendon will discuss best practices and what is expected of companies and their counsel if those corporations get pulled into a federal investigation.  Ms. Rendon will also offer insight into her experience doing white-collar defense work and what she knows now, from the other side of the “V” that she wishes she knew then.
