FBA Civics Event

The Northern District of Ohio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is hosting Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions, a national initiative of the federal courts focused on teaching civil discourse skills to high school and college students through a simulated court hearing and mock jury exercise.

The event will take place on October 30, 2018 from 9:30 am to 12:30 am at the Federal Courthouse.  Sixty John Marshall High School students will participate.

We are looking for attorneys to volunteer for the event. Your role would be to work with the students to prepare arguments for the court hearing and assist the students prepare for and engage in the mock jury exercise. The only advance preparation necessary is to review the program materials (link below).

More information about the program, along with a link to download the program packet, is available at the following link: http://www.uscourts.gov/educational-resources/educational-activities/civil-discourse-and-difficult-decisions

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions about the event, please contact Sarah Cleves at scleves@calfee.com or Sean Kelly at attorneyseankelly@gmail.com.  Thank you for your consideration.
