Taking Aim at Violent Crime: What Does the Second Amendment Tell Us?

The seminar is the first in a series entitled:

“Gun Rights - Gun Wrongs: Chardon…Sandy Hook… Aurora…Virginia…Columbine…An Open Dialogue on Reducing Gun Violence.”

This program examines the Supreme Court’s 2008 opinion of District of Columbia v. Heller and its progeny, and the impact the Court’s holding has had on the jurisprudence of the Second Amendment. In undertaking this examination, the program will also take a close look at how that law has evolved to the present day and how that law affects discussions about gun ownership, gun control, and gun rights. The program consists of three experts in the field with a fourth expert serving as moderator. Audience involvement in the discussion will be encouraged particularly during the second half of the program.
