Federal Criminal Practice Seminar.

Due to Covid-19, our annual Federal Criminal Practice Seminar will be held this year via webinar, and you are cordially invited to attend. The program is scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2020, and is being presented  by the Federal Public Defender Office, in association with the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and with the assistance of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.  This program will help keep you abreast of important changes which affect federal criminal trial and appellate practice.  We are pleased to bring you an exciting and diverse line-up, which includes presentations by Ian Manuel, a former inmate speaking on the path to redemption; Juval Scott, Federal Defender in Virginia discussing reviving search and seizure litigation; Ellen Toth, local expert on employment law, speaking on sexual harassment in the work place; Cathi Shusky and Christian Grostic attorneys from our office speaking on Compassionate Release; as well as Sumter Camp and Mike Benza presenting review of the Sixth Circuit and Supreme Court cases. The agenda is attached for your review.

This webinar has been approved by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio to satisfy the requirements of Local Rule 57.5(o) and the Criminal Justice Act Plan for CLE training in federal criminal law and procedure.  Application will be made to the Ohio Supreme Court CLE Commission for 5.0 hours of general CLE, and 1.0 hour of professionalism.  This webinar is FREE to attend.
