Event Description:

State of the Court Sponsorship

The luncheon serves as a platform for practitioners and judicial officers to share information about court-related matters and includes Chapter offices and award ceremonies. Attendance is over 350 each year.

Mentoring Program Sponsorship

The mentorship program pairs local practitioners with law students to build professional relationships. The chapter plans to host social events to facilitate networking and discussions on federal practice.

Summer Law Clerk Reception Sponsorship

The event encourages young law students to pursue careers in northern Ohio and includes speeches from federal judges.

Summer Social Sponsorship

The event aims to foster connections between federal practitioners and court staff. The last event featured complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and was well attended.

Newsletter Advertisement

The award-winning newsletter highlights federal court developments relating to federal courts and federal practitioners; members’ achievements; recent events; and membership information. The newsletter received the Outstanding Newsletter Award in September 2024. The chapter plans to publish four editions annually.

N.D. of Ohio Bench Bar CLE Sponsorship

This second annual event will provide lawyers an opportunity to engage with and learn from N.D. Ohio judges, the Chief Judge of Sixth Circuit, and other local officials. Panels of magistrate and district court judges will share their insights and offer practical advice for civil and criminal practitioners. They will discuss a range of litigation topics, including discovery, case management, motion practice, brief writing, oral advocacy, trials, and the role of the judiciary. Other discussions will cover the Sixth Circuit, the clerk’s office, and the role of the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Ohio.
